On March 5th and 6th, 2024, the Office of Procurement, Contracts, & Grants (OPCG) convened with our Monterey team for the first time in Raleigh, NC, for a team-building workshop. This session aimed to uncover individual and collective strengths and develop strategies to enhance team effectiveness. The agenda included reviewing their Clifton Strengths Finder 2.0 results and learning the basics of the Crucial Conversations framework, which was used to guide both teams on how to engage in crucial discussions effectively. It was an incredible start to a great day, filled with dynamic learning and meaningful connections!
The following day, the team explored strengths-based solutions to common challenges and created detailed plans to apply these approaches in their daily operations. Participants valued the opportunity to meet and interact with their colleagues in person and appreciated the OPCG leadership’s commitment to investing in team building and mutual growth.
The event concluded successfully with many valuable takeaways. It was a particularly fulfilling experience to finally meet the OPCG team members face-to-face, fostering stronger bonds and enhancing the team’s overall dynamics.
